Details: This activity highlights a Texas Hold'em style card game, used to unite fellow engineers in a highly popular game and teach probability techniques which can be used to make choices. Prizes will be awarded -- 1st place $50.00 voucher for any restaurant on Main Street; 2nd place $20.00 and 3rd place $10.00. Note: No money is exchanged during the games.

Come and celebrate Engineers Week with SAMPE!
What: Annual SAMPE Baltimore-Washington University Research Symposium
When: Wednesday, February 20, 2013 – 5:30-8:30 PM
Where: University of Delaware – Center for Composite Materials (UD-CCM)
The annual Student Night, sponsored by the Baltimore-Washington professional chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), will feature students presenting their research from four affiliated student chapters (University of Delaware, University of Maryland-College Park, University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and West Virginia University). Hosted this year by the SAMPE-University of Delaware student chapter, two students from each member university will showcase their research by giving either a poster or PowerPoint presentation. These students will be competing for cash prizes, up to $500, and the winner of the PowerPoint presentation will have the opportunity to present their research at the SAMPE University Research Symposium at the upcoming SAMPE international conference in Long Beach, CA.
Come network with professionals from the material and process engineering community, learn about the SAMPE student chapter and see cutting-edge materials research. The symposium and dinner are free to all but please RSVP to SAMPE-UD President Maxime Dempah dmax@udel.edu by February 19th.

Details: What is Broomball? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broomball In a game of broomball there are two teams, each consisting of six players: a goaltender and five others. The object of the game is to score more goals than your opponent. Goals are scored by hitting the ball into your opponent's net using your broom. Tactics and plays are similar to those used in sports such as ice hockey, roller hockey and floorball.
