Barner named chairperson of electrical and computer engineering

Kenneth E. Barner has been named chairperson of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Michael Chajes, dean of the University of Delaware's College of Engineering, announced today. The appointment is effective July 1.

Three new named professors appointed

Three faculty have been appointed to named professorships, effective July 1. Thomas Buchanan has been appointed George W. Laird Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Michael Mackay has been named Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and David Martin is the new Karl Boer Chair of Materials Science and Engineering.
