Entry-Level/Intern Civil Engineer (Airports)
Description:
Job Description: Projects range from large-hub international airports to general aviation airports, and include all aspects of civil engineering design, including design and construction management of runways and taxiways, aprons, terminals, loading bridges, aircraft parking layout, de-icing facilities, grading, drainage, Stormwater management, navigation aids, and landside projects such as roadways and parking facilities. Duties will include working with more experienced staff to perform specific design tasks on a wide variety of airfield/landside projects that would ultimately result in set of construction documents. Typical duties include interpreting drawings, evaluating data, horizontal and vertical geometry; grading and drainage; erosion and sediment control; interpretation of Federal Aviation Administration design standards; pavement design; quantity take-offs; preparation of design reports; and use of civil engineering/design/cadd software. Occasional travel to project/client/construction sites is required, and the position offers the opportunity for rapid advancement.
Qualifications:
Degree: B.S./M.S.
Major: civil engineering/technology
Other Requirements: computer/CADD knowledge plus; aviation knowledge a plus; ability to work overtime as necessary; EIT preferred, not required.

Airports at which current contracts are held include Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI), Hagerstown Regional (HGR), John F. Kennedy International (JFK), Philadelphia International (PHL), Cleveland Hopkins (CLE), Columbus (CMH), Martin State (MTN), Long Island (ISP) and Garrett County (2G4) Airports.
