Geotechnical Engineering
Certificate Program
To earn this geotechnical engineering certificate, you must participate in four of the very practical non-credit geotechnical engineering short courses offered through Engineering Outreach and taught by internationally recognized experts. These may include Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls & Reinforced Soil Slopes, Slopes and Embankments, Soil Reinforcement Analysis & Design, Geotechnical & Structural Design and Construction Monitoring of Deep Foundations, Ground Improvement Technologies & Systems, LRFD of Foundations & Geotechnical Features, Earth Retaining Structures, Deep Foundations for Structural Engineers, Drilled Shafts: Construction, Inspection & Design, and others to be determined. This program that became effective in November 2003 has resulted in numerous civil and geotechnical engineers letting others know of the ready-to-use knowledge they have gained through these courses and proudly displaying the framed certificate they have earned as a result. If you have already taken at least three UD Outreach geotechnical short courses prior to November 2003, you will be awarded the certificate upon completion of one additional UD geotechnical short course. (You choose which of your previously taken courses you would like to have applied to the certificate, as the course titles will be printed on your framed certificate).
