Course Description

This unique educational opportunity was originally designed in consultation with representatives from several local companies who agree that this course provides extremely valuable information.

Who Should Attend

Instrumentation & Data Acquisition is designed for instrument engineers, application engineers and engineering-level technicians, as well as peers involved with process control.

An ideal training strategy is for plant employees from both the instrumentation and process control groups to attend this course, facilitating significant improvement in problem recognition and communication.

Benefits

This course enables you to:

"Mr. Wetzel's ability to communicate his knowledge in terms understandable to a process line associate like myself created an open environment for ease of questions and answers."

Curtis Gould
Basell

The Presenter

Mark D. Wetzel earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 1978 and a master's degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1980, both degrees in electrical engineering. Since completing his degree work, he has been with the DuPont Company's engineering and research organizations. While with DuPont, Mr. Wetzel has developed instrumentation, data acquisition systems and controllers for many different processes, including fiber spinning, extrusion, image processing and medical applications. His research interests include system dynamics, process control, digital signal processing, polymer processing and extrusion.

Agenda

Tuesday August 7 , 8:00 a.m. - Registration;
Tuesday & Wednesday August 7&8, Class times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Numerous examples will be used to illustrate the critical issues in instrumentation and data acquisition. Participants are also encouraged to bring their instrumentation concerns from their respective worksites, and, preferably to submit them in advance to Engineering Outreach, so that Mr. Wetzel can further tailor the course to meet specific needs.
