Confocal Microscopy (Square)
Seven parallel microfluidic channels created in a hydrogel using laser-based hydrogel degradation and filled with fluorescent dextran were imaged. The image was then duplicated, rotated, and overlaid with the original to make the quilt pattern seen here. Microfluidic channels in hydrogels are used by the Slater Lab to culture various cell types and model vasculature.
