Sometimes science is just playing around to see what happens. This is a stigma from a random tree that is growing behind our lab building. A stigma is the part of the flower where the pollen grain lands and leads to the fertilization of the plant. This was captured using a multiphoton excitation on our Zeiss LSM 880 at 25X.
